Day 1: Introductions

Antoine scuffed his feat against the floor as the bear pushed him back.

"Like hell I'd use one of your lame jokes!" He swung his arm back at the bear as he landed in his seat, scowling.

Jason nodded. "Well, there's going to be an announcement after dessert... and something about a joke." Jason explained, putting his bread roll down.

"But Antoine's really pushing the limits, from what I... heard."

Martin's carefully planned dinner was disrupted by the commotion. He seemed upset by this.
"Just let it go," he muttered under his breath, now too distracted to eat his meal.

Lisa shifted away from Antoine and closer to Jordan as best she could with the drama unfolding right next to her. She looked to Jason Brant, and then Martin, a slight look of concern.

From the moment Antoine had stood up, Jason had flipped around and pulled out his raggedy notebook. He scribbled down a few words next to the silhouette, which he added form to, from earlier:

Bear(?) threatened Antoine. Don't trust it.

The bear was literally steaming as it sat back in it's chair.

"Are any of you bastards are still eating?" it growled angrily. "Hurry up if you are!"

Cobalt was shocked by the change in Monobear's tone. He leaned forward and pushed his plate further back from him before sitting upright and looking around.

Dakota got increasingly excited as the bear confronted Antoine. Her legs swung back and forth, kicking the chair legs. She was on the shorter side.

"Fight him!" she liked the idea of fighting the bear, "And then dessert!" she shoved the last of the steak into her mouth.

Dark thought for a moment after Jason's explanation. "Joke? Does that mean a prank? No one will hurt, yes?" He found that he was leaning almost out of his seat. He regained his composure and cleared his throat.

"Ana asif... Nevermind."

Lisa blinked a few times before putting her glass down by her plate and staring at Monobear, gripping the arms of her chair.

"Did the bear just curse us out?" she asked in mild amusement. "Would it be weird if I said that wasn't my first time being cursed out by a bearlike mascot?" she said this to no one in particular, but pushed her plate farther from her. "Done, by the way."

Martin caught Lisa's glance and shrugged.

"Wait...I haven't even...started..." He said weakly, now rushing to eat his dinner before Monobear could call him out on it.

Caleb patted his lips with his napkins a few times, not much caring for the bear's coarse tone. He turned to Cobalt, keeping his voice hushed so others would not hear.

"You are a warrior of crime, is that correct? How do you feel about the headmaster?" he whispered.

Cobalt whispered back the best he could.

"While his tone does resemble some notorious criminals I have confronted, I have faith that our chaperon or supervisor is simply joking!  There is no reason for fear!"  He flashed a reassuring smile.

Jason looked a bit concerned. "I- hope not..." He trailed off.

"I half hope it'll be a verbal joke." His eyes darted away from Dark for a second before he looked back at his clean plate. There were only a few breadcrumbs on it. "Though why do I feel like something bad's gonna happen?"

Jordan took the last forkful of her salad, turning slowly to Lisa and then Aris.
"This is the oddest dinner I've ever had," she blinked, "What do you think of..." her eyes rolled in monobear's general direction. She could ignore the commotion, but the mere fact there was a robotic animal at the table nagged at her.

Moving slightly she tried to see how Claire was fairing.

Aris snorted, getting more food onto her plate. "Like hell you tell me when to finish eating- besides, can I take some of this back?"

She started on her new plate of food, though she ate a little bit slowly.

Miranda did not look pleased at the tone of the room. Her lips were in a thin line, her eyes darting around.

"Can we... calm down?" She said, trying to make her own voice heard over the cacophony.

Having been finished with her salad for some time now, Claire furrowed her brow and waited for her classmates to finish their own dinners. "Hurry up guys..." she muttered.

She gave the door out into the hallway a wistful glance, as if she wanted nothing more than to leave the crowded room.

Ruby held her head in her hands and sighed. The musher next to her was just an accident waiting to happen and the assassin...

What was even going on anymore.

Lisa looked over to Jordan.

"Well, aside from the weird smile and weird eye, I think it's kinda cute!"

Jason looked around nervously and pushed his plate father away from him. He meekly took a sip of water and gulped it down.

He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it a second later. There wasn't much to say.

Caleb made a little grunting noise and nodded, apparently satisfied with the superhero's answer.

"I concur. This is nothing more than a farce at best," he decided. "And even if there was clear and present danger, we have none other than a Super High School Level Superhero here to protect us. I for one feel perfectly safe." Caleb punctuated his remark with a pretty little smile at Cobalt.

"Cute..." she puzzled over Lisa's word choice, "Alright, I can see 'cute'." she laughed just slightly. "I'm not appreciating its personality, though..."

She saw that Claire didn't seem to be having the time of her life and mouthed out a "Hey" to her.

Cobalt nodded enthusiastically.

"Even if things do go south somehow, there's no need to fear!" His voice began to grow louder.

"I, Cobalt, will do my absolute best to protect everyone! With Ms. Hanno, there's nothing that we cannot accomplish together!"
