Day 1: Introduction

Jaden looked after Cobalt and Jordan running towards the vestibule. "Hey, it was my idea! Obviously I'm coming!" he yelled. "C'mon Marty!" He swung his arm to gesture down the hall, and caught up with the others.

Isaac looked mortified.

He signed back very quickly, "No, not like that! I just wanted to know his-"
Oh thank god there were more people to distract from him.

"Duh, the power of friendship," Avery made a faux rainbow above his head with that word. Complete with jazz hands.

"Oh, really? Skeletor and his gang were the shit when I was younger. My ad-dad would watch with me- dude was way too into my gang and our stuff than any dude who had to supervise his adopted three kids. Especially when he had like, his biological ones too. He was rad, though! Dude was so buff he looked like he was shooting steroids, but I watched that dude- he didn't! He fucking once punched a guy into the blacktop when he was hassing me, then just cracked his knuckles and send the dude's dad away like a scared raccoon!" Avery cacked at the memory, "K-dad was the best! My dad was always caught up in court cases, though. Rarely saw him, but that style I still wanna emulate... Gold and black like it was a pristine, androgynous figure..."

He traced an outline with his hands.

"Wait, shit, sorry, didn't mean to go off on my family life. But here's the short- I have two siblings, and three half ones. My first dad kicked it, and my second's a cool meatwad."

He stared blankly at the floor in front of him. As he speaks, his voice is low, but doesn't waver.

"It's no big deal. I used to have a brother. They - um, my parents, I mean, - always tell me he was a great guy." He smiled. "So I try be the same. For his memory, I guess. And because it's the right thing to do."

Jake furrowed his brows at Claire and Isaac's distressed signing before shaking his head.

"We ain't found nothing," he responded. When he thought Isaac was distracted, he whispered to Claire, "Is he okay? The deaf kid?"

"I don't know, even if they were jerks we should still warn them...-" Martin's thoughts were cut off as everyone began running after the blue kid.

"Hey! Hey- It's Martin!" The Boy Scout corrected Jaden as ran after them.

Lux cackled at Judas's shitty singing before darting around the hallway, distributing bags of chips, popcorn, pretzels, and veggie straws to each person's door. Each with a complimentary can of Monster Energy™.

"Izzat so! I can do ya one better!" Lux said, picking the now mostly empty box back up again. With their trusty snack supply in tow, they proceeded toward the kitchen singing in perfect key. "I'll be the roooouuundabout...

If the meds were something simple like tylenol or the like, that was to be pocketed. Otherwise, out Miranda went.

The lamp!

She forgot to check the lamp. Time to check that whole kit n' caboodle, looking at the drawer too.

There are painkillers in the cabinet. The lamp is normal. The drawers have some neatly folded suits and casual clothing.

Ariel nodded intently as Avery talked about his family life.

"It's fine, dude. Sounds rough though. I just have a younger brother and my parents myself."

She smushed her cheeks together and started to exhale. "You think I should try to look for stuff for DM'ing? Iunno, theres so much to think about right now and I'm kind of tired, but it's also kinda bothering me."

"I'm going to try opening the door. Everyone, step back. It could be dangerous." He gripped it in his gloved hand, taking a deep breath.

He howled at Lux's meme, slapping his knee for the full effect. "YES! YES. I see you, too, are a man of culture!" As they passed his own door, he picked up the Monster the moment Lux dropped it down and cracked it open for the boys. He needed this.

"I don't know that one, though! And it's legitimately a very good song. S'it hard to learn?"

"Oh... oh man. I'm sorry. Losing family sucks. I've come close, too, so I get it a little, I think."

Patrick grinned - it was nice to see everyone finally at peace and really appreciated Lux's initiative.

"Now, why don't we go look for the others? I'm sure if they were in a dorm they would have walked out by now, so maybe they're in another room. How about we check out the kitchen?"

"No finds are better than bad finds. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go check out the kitchen."

Antoine waved as he entered, noticing the door on the other side of the room.

"I'm gonna check that out."

He shrugged. "S'not a big deal. I don't ... really ... remember, any of it. So ..." he shrugged again, for lack of a better action.

"You move on. Just like we probably should, thinking about it." He looked at the map on his bracelet, but nothing in particular really interested him.

Avery shrugged. "I was a kid, so... not too bad? More people to help my oldest sister- she was born without an arm or leg. That and I got to tease my younger siblings, and make them halloween costumes. And if they pissed me off, I made them shitty christmas sweaters with the lowest quality wool I could find. I was a monster, and my parents /made/ them wear it." A sick, twisted cackle of a man who knew the pleasure of having his siblings forced to wear the tackiest things imaginable.

"Don't we have rooms? What if you have a book in there."

"I'm not a man! I'm Lux!" they laughed. "I could be a man if you want? I don't really care, dude. And nah, Roundabout ain't too complicated. Just a l'il longer than your average 3-4 minute song."
They shared their grin with Patrick.

"Good idea, Pat! You're full of 'em! I guess that's what happens when you're a Super High School Level...whatever you are!"

+1 bottle of painkillers.

... Miranda looked over her shoulder, then grabbed all the clothing. She would no longer be cold.

And done. Miranda scuttled out into the Hallway, taking her time to smack her fingers onto the elevator button. Could this take any slower?

Claire waved her hands dismissively. "Oh, nothing. He's just a little lost with all the talking going on I guess." She turned back and quickly signed "I understand" to Isaac. "Anyway, let's go check out this kitchen," she signed and spoke as she stepped inside.

"Oh nice! An island! Much fancier than my kitchen back home."

Freezer


The shelves are full of all kinds of food one would find in a freezer aisle. The meat hanging is comically large.

"But it's upstairs and in the other side of the school!" she whined. "But, I guess, there's a nice bed waiting for me there too, so it can't be all that bad."

She stretched her arms and rolled out of the couch. "As long as we take the elevator."

Antoine walked into the freezer, pulling his jacket around him. He gave the room one good look.

"Yup, normal freezer."

And with that, he walked back out closing the door behind him. He shivered, then approached Dark.

"Freezer's normal."

"Who even takes the stairs in this day and age? Eh, sure, take your time. Not like your legs are digging into my whole backside." He stuck his tongue out at that, the universal douche-flirt.

He nodded at Patrick's words and makes his way in that direction. "Kitchen sounds like a good plan. Let's head that way, then."

He stroked a nonexistent beard, grinning even more at Lux's words. "Ah, ah, I see. Excuse my foolishness. A Lux of culture, then! That's even more impressive. Just a Judas of culture and a Lux of culture tearing it up with the shittiest setlist known to mankind. I'll do a few skateboard tricks in the middle of the set while you do a sick guitar solo. We can sync it up. We'll be rich."

Judas looked incredibly animated as he spoke, talking with his hands and trying not to laugh. It wasn't obvious if he was faking this sudden enthusiasm or not, but his eyes were filled with mirth as he pulled open the door to the Kitchen and motioned his gang in.
