Day 1: Introduction

He laughed despite himself, scratching his cheek.

"Um ... I'm still trying to figure it out, myself! I don't ... really ... remember how I got noticed, but ..." He forced a tiny smile. "Well, it's not really a big deal. My parents are really supportive, so I they helped me a lot." He paused. "I think."

Claire shrugged, wrapping her feather boa around her neck. "Nah, let's just go to yours. I'm just glad to be away from the others. So annoying..." She turned to Isaac. "We'll look at Jake's room first, ok?" she signed.

The casing on the computer isn't fancy, but it is screwed on. This leaves Miranda to hurl it, breaking it open. A few of the inner components don't seem too thrilled about being jostled.

Lux blinked a couple of times when the two boys burst in unexpectedly. "Yeah, of course! Take whatever you want!" They remembered Patrick from their introduction that was more like a TED talk and Judas was too cool to not to notice. Either way, neither of them looked like they were having a good time.

"Everything ok?" they asked.

Jordan looked up at Jaden and Martin, "The body is in the Butler's Quarters. I don't recommend seeing it for yourself though, for your own good you might wanna take Cobalt's word for it."

"We're trying to notify everyone of the situation..." She trailed off, thinking that she may have heard screaming and crying from nearby.

"I just..." Patrick shut his eyes. "Thank you," he sighed as he unwrapped the brownies.

"Isaac and Miranda found, uh, a..." he swallowed. "A d-d-dead body. We don't know who it is, but we're in danger."

He glanced around the room. "I'm trying to find everyone - the other kids are at the dorms right now and we're going to meet up with them. I really think it'd be a good idea for you all to join us, just so we can be sure none of us are going to get hurt."

"I'm... definitely going to take some snacks though. That might cheer everyone up" he said as he started digging through the boxes for something healthy. He probably wasn't going to find an apple in these boxes.

"And, Judas, sorry for making a scene there. I'm... feeling a bit better," he said as he pulled out a few bags of veggie straws.

"Parents..." Lisa trailed off.

"...I wanna see mine..."

At Jordan's confirmation of the body, Jaden pouted and glanced sideways, slightly flustered. "Alright, alright, sorry kid. But really, this is fuckin' nuts!"

He circled around in spot, unsure of what to do with himself. "Where should we even go? I'm so done with this! Dead bodies! Was it one of us?"

Avery did not mind at all that someone was on the couch, lying down on Ariel's legs. He tapped his cheek with a fist, "We could go for simple, something ruled by dice rolls and made up on the fly. There's something fine about having a stupid story one in a while. Like He-Man levels of bullshit. Saturday morning cartoon-stuff. You feel me? Figuratively- cause you prolly can feel everything from balls to ass on your legs."

"From what I could tell, it was a male identifying adult. Definitely not one of us."

Judas stood behind Patrick almost awkwardly. He peered into a box or three, looking for a bottle of water. Finding a can of Monster instead, he chug chug chugged it down as Patrick explained the current situation.

He nodded at Patrick's apology. "Glad you're feeling better. You were right. Food calms you down."

Dark started looking around the laundry room for clues. Beginning with the driers, he opened a few of them. "Maybe something cool in here... Never know."

He gestured towards Antoine and then towards the washers. "Look in laundry machines."

Miranda does a quick check on the de-shelled computer, leveraging with a foot to be able to easily access the innards. All she needed was the motherboard and a few other important bits, and she could plug this bad boy into another computer...

"Bozo didn't have canned air. No wonder this thing's so dusty..."

"You got it, chief." He did as asked, opening the washers one at a time and peeking in. He spun the barrel on one of them.

Jake shrugged. "Fine by me." He strolled over to his room leisurely, scanning his bracelet and allowing his guests inside.

"Eh. I've seen nicer," he said as he inspected it. He went over to the drawers and frowned.

"Guys, something's wrong," he said, turning back around to Claire and Isaac. "I swear I brought cigarettes with me, and now they're not here. Between this and the body...I have a really bad feeling that someone's fucking with us."

"...yeah. Haha."

He sighed. "Just, family in general. Big downer. Man, I wish ..." and he shakes his head. "... well, that doesn't really matter. And you don't need to hear that."

The only thing to be found in the laundry room is a single item in the last drier.

A Monobear Brand Mono Speedo.

Dark grabbed the Mono Speedo and examined it closely. "I am... disappointed," he said loudly, holding the article of clothing out so Antoine could see it. "Now we know where laundry can do," he muttered, tossing the speedo to the floor. "Garbage. Where go now?"

Miranda finds what she seeks.

Antoine choked at the sight of the swimwear.

"I-" He coughed, "I guess the kitchen? The only stuff left is that and the freezer, which is in the kitchen.

Ariel started running her hand through her tangled hair. "I mean, yeah... But it's hard to do that right, and I do want to make the game seem interesting to newer players if we'd actually do something here. I mean, I usually write campaigns and one-shots with genuinely engaging and thought provoking storylines - the campy stuff's for other writers and I'm not that good at comedy."

She turned over and started staring at the documentary that was playing on the TV. A female mantis was eating its mate just after they mated. Her eyes darted to Avery and then away as swiftly as possible.

"Are you sure you want to keep this on? I mean I'm fine with it but..."

Lux's eyes went wide. If Judas was corroborating it, then this had to be real.

"O-ok. Let's just chill," Lux said, visibly trembling. They picked up a box of miscellaneous things that was loaded with snacks. "Food and friends are good, Pat. Thanks for lookin out for us." They gave Rachel a somber look.

"I think we should leave, Rach. An' I want you guys to stay with me."

"I don't...know what to do either," seeing Jaden freak out a bit freaked out Martin even more, "Th-thank god it wasn't one of us, right?" He said, mouth twitching a bit.

"Do we go back and tell them!?" Martin asked Jaden, not sure if he wanted to go running back so soon. then again, they could rub it in their faces...

Rachel watched with wide eyes as Patrick explained. "Seriously ... ?! Oh, this can't be real ... what the hell ..."

She clutched her arms in her hands, processing what he said. Turning to Lux as they spoke, she nodded. "Y-yeah ... let's stick together."

Claire signed back Jake's concerns to Isaac as he spoke, then chuckled. "I kind of got that idea from when we all woke up in a classroom for some weird reason, but yes!" She threw her hands in the air for a moment before signing again.

"So what're we going to do about it, guys? Any bright ideas?"
