Day 3: Abnormal Days

Miranda's eyes darted to Cobalt.

Blood. Why didn't she notice it. Her lip curled, but Monobear distracted her. Autopsy report. She nodded. "Thank you, but I have something to ask someone." She said to the bear before walking towards Cobalt.

Her hand grabbed his throat like a vice. Her normally bubbly and happy eyes were long gone. "Explain." She said, her eyes darting to the coat.

Rachel reached up to the top of her collar and felt for the red bowtie - but the kid was right, it was missing. She looked down, eyes squeezing shut.

"M-motive from yesterday had a connection t-to that...that stupid thing. I couldn't have it reminding me of...of someone."

She looked back up at Cobalt and then at Martin, but quickly glared right back at the Scout and, completely ignoring whatever the bear just said, at Miranda.

"Maybe you should let him explain what happened before you go on accusing people!" she snapped at the two of them.

Cobalt feebly moved to place his hands against Miranda's grip, but let them fall back to his sides when he saw the blood once again. Between gasps for breath, he managed to choke out a response.

"If I say it was me...will no one else have to die...?" he rasped.

In the meantime, some of the students checked their bracelets. Along with Dakota's autopsy was the following:

Lisa called out to Martin and Judas.

"Guys, I'm gonna head to the hall. I'm not much help investigating tight spaces. If you want, we can work together..."

Her voice drifted off as she exited the room.

Ruby sucked in a long breath and closed her eyes, mentally counting backwards from 10. When she regained sight of Minerva and Jason in front of her, she spoke with a clear voice, still shaky but at the very least coherent.

"I hate that room," she stated point blank. "But it doesn't change the fact that someone 'round here is messed up. An' even if we're scared, we at least owe it to Dako'a and Dark to find out who the bastard is."

She shot a look at the two in front of her, waiting.

Claire turned away from the kitchen and scanned the room for Jordan. She saw her and walked over to her friend. "H-hey... We should stick together if we're planning to look around..." Her voice trailed off.

"Personally, I think someone's gotten to all the evidence already. But there's nothing we can do about that..."

"If you didn't do it, then the murderer is still out there." Miranda snorted, letting go of Cobalt. "Your martyr complex will not behoove anyone."

Her glare turned to Rachel. "I'm not accusing anyone. I am merely asking questions. Dark was one of the few people I liked. Now he's dead." She tossed her hair, running her hands through it nonchalantly. "Now if anyone here wants to work with me, just say so and make sure you don't get in my way."

Cobalt stumbled a bit at the sudden release, then began rubbing his neck, his gaze focused on his feet.

"I believe no one would be comfortable with me investigating...The least I can do, however, is guard our fallen friends."

Judas sighed and spun on his heels, looking down at the floor with a certain level of intensity.

"I'm comin', I'm comin'," he murmured, making his way out of the room silently and meeting up with Lisa. He nearly bumped into her wheelchair in his determination to walk forwards without looking at where he was going - he stopped in front of her, thankfully, then looked over for Martin. He spotted him and called out.

"Martin, you joinin' us?"

Minerva was rather eager to get out of the room once Jason admitted he was feeling sick. She carefully picked the collapsed boy up, starting to help him out of the room.

"I... as much as I want to investigate, some of us are probably not fit. I'll... tend to them before I jump in." She nodded at Ruby.

Jaden was shocked at the altercation between Cobalt and Miranda, but had to push it aside for the group. "No, you stupid kid. You're covered in blood, I'm not putting you in charge of making sure no one fucks with the crime scene."

He sighed and crossed his arms, looking at Dakota's body through the kitchen door. "You can stick around if you want, but I'm gonna be the one guarding these rooms."

Caleb brushed his fingers against his lips idly, listening to everyone talk around him. He glanced out the doorframe to see Jason being escorted by Minerva. His notepad was in his hands and his thumbs ran back and forth over the spirals. Finally, he clicked his pen and began to write.

"Forgive me, Jason..." he murmured as he scribbled "Investigation 1" at the top before quietly following Miranda.

Jordan came back to reality slowly, as people began to organize themselves. She heard Claire's voice and her eyes seemed to clear of a slight fog.
"Stick together?" Jordan's face relaxed into a grin, "That sounds like a plan."

"I'm not very good with this kind of thing," Jordan glanced at the crime scene, "I'm not sure if I can help much. I'm sure we'll find something."

Rachel glared right back at Miranda. "I'm not sure what system of justice you subscribe to, but, just so you know, I'm pretty sure the way it works is people get punished AFTER it's decided that they committed the crime." she backed up a bit, shooting a look at Cobalt for a second before looking back at Miranda, a bit calmer now. "So, you know, don't go chocking kids at your pleasure. Save it for later."

She turned back to Cobalt and looked him up and down, then sighed. "I'm with Jaden on this one, I'll stay here too, just in case."

She gave a weary laugh. "I'll scream if anyone does anything stupid."

Cobalt shifted his head toward Jaden, but kept his eyes low.

"Secure me to a wall, if it makes everyone feel more at ease.  Should I investigate, all I would do is contaminate evidence. I simply wish to do something to help, even if that is making everyone a little more comfortable."

Claire shook her head. "That's alright. I've played Clue so many times I've probably got enough detective skills for the both of us. Come on!"

At that, Claire wandered out of the dining room.

Martin watched Miranda and Cobalt's exchange with bewilderment, waiting for a moment to butt in before Jaden asserted himself.

He stood in the center of the room, wanting to make an announcement, only to find himself stuttering. Jason's voice stopped him for a second and, giving up, Martin marched out towards the hallway, in shock.

Miranda gave a small nod to Caleb.

"Don't scream too much. You'll get hoarse someday." Miranda intoned, starting to scan the crime scene, not really interested in Cobalt or Rachel anymore. "Now go practice what you preach; me and Mr. Canterbury have important issues to discuss."

Ruby nodded at Minerva and Jason before standing up. Her eyes followed Lisa, Judas, and Martin's group until they switched over to Jordan's and Claire's. She tilted her head a moment before shaking it off and heading into the kitchen where Dakota lay, fists clenched.

Jaosn was more than welcome to have Minerva help him get away. He didn't really want to be in here.

Once they were out in the hall, he managed to whisper something out, his voice extremely shaky. "C-can you escort me to my room? I don't wanna do this...."

With not a moment to spare, Caleb strode over to where Dark's corpse lay, notebook in hand and autopsy on wrist.

"I believe the top priority right now is determining the weapon used to end Mr. Dark's..." Caleb glanced at the glowing report on his display. "Or rather, Mr....Haroun al-Bishara's life." Caleb silently praised himself for not biting his tongue.

Caleb investigates Dark's head trauma.

Miranda nodded, no trace of emotion on her face. She follows behind Caleb, but she notices he has the head wound covered.

"His name was Dark." She states, picking the man's hand up and trying to move his arm and take a temperature.

Investigate if rigor mortis is present as well as any latent heat

Ruby held her breath as she entered the kitchen and almost immediately, she wanted to spin around on her heels and leave. Swallowing hard, she tried with all of her might to keep Dakota in her peripheral vision.

Ruby investigates the knives and the broken egg carton.

"Write down everything on the bracelet. The bear wasn't lying when he said the time of death was around 6 pm." Miranda nodded at Caleb. "I assume you'll be writing down what we both find, and you report to me likewise."

Miranda investigates around the chairs and table for any blood spatter and signs of struggle.
