Day 3: Abnormal Days

Jaden overheard Miranda's conversation and started to feel light-headed. He clenched his fists and raised his voice. "Hey! We are not talking about this right now." He emphasized every word.

"If you wanna go discuss blood physics, do it somewhere else. It's making me nauseous."

Ruby huffed as Judas left the room. Typical.

Ruby examines the knives to see if they were washed recently.

"You're standing next to a dead body during a mockery of a criminal investigation. If you're going to pull a McDorne, do so in the hallway." Miranda didn't even look a Jaden when she said this, though a somewhat slow realization came under her face. Her features dropped slightly. "Sorry..."

But then she was back to normal.

"The print didn't have the lines a bare hand would have. Therefore, whoever touched the flower pot had gloves and was small. We can't say it was the killer, the prints on the neck are smudged up. But the flowerpot definitely was a gloved hand. I also will state that Dark was perhaps the second victim. Blood loss from the neck takes a few minutes for death."

Minerva gave a silent nod, noticing nobody really acknowledged her. She skirted the scene in the dining room and proceeded to the kitchen.

"H-hey... how'd everyone... doing?" She asked, not really able to put a cheery spin on it.

She looked at Cobalt silently before turning away from him, shaking her head.

She looked over to Minerva and shrugged, walking over to her. "Besides Dark and Dakota? I'd say we're all doing...okay, at the best. I mean...yeah."

Jaden could tolerate the conversation until it moved to blood loss again. "Alright, that's it. I'm sorry, but you two need to leave. You've probed these corpses enough, now go look elsewhere."

Jaden made to grab Caleb's arm to walk him out the door.

"Still trying to figure out who murdered Dakota and with what," Ruby added as she stood up. "She's got a puncture wound in her back but all the knives here are clean. It's possible the murderer could have hid a knife, or even used something else."

When Jaden moved to grab Caleb, Miranda was on him in a flash, her own hand grabbing Jaden's in her vice-like grip. "I suggest you do not touch him. We were just about done here, anyways."

"A knife? Well, is there any blood drips? Because that means the... person had the knife in their hand. If not, they probably wrapped it up in something." Minerva tapped her chin.

Minerva looks around the floors and walls, looking for bloodstains.

Jaden wrenched his arm out of Miranda's grasp and brought his face right up against hers. "Then get out. I'm guarding the scene, I decide who gets to go around and step all over some dead kid's remains like an animal. So fucking beat it."

Caleb blinked a few times at Jaden before laughing a little.

"My apologies, Mr. Masters. Lest I diminish the importance of Moorish statues in a crime scene investigation. If you'll excuse us." With that, he took his leave with Miranda in tow.

Miranda clicked her tongue at Jaden, twice, not deigning to move. "So you'd rather point to someone and say 'murderer' rather than see if you can have the balls to see who could do something this heinous. My mistake, then, I assumed you were better than that. Let the vultures pick and you grovel in the dirt."

She whipped around, hoping her hair would strike Jaden's face like a scourge, following Caleb.

Ruby shuddered.

"I'm not really good at this...dealin' with dead bodies n' all. Didja find out anythin' else?"

Jaden kept his scournful look until Miranda and Caleb left, and then he sighed and slunk into his chair again. "For shit's sake..." he mumbled. "I'm not cut out for this bull. One murder investigation is enough."

The students' bracelets crackled to life with an all-to-familiar voice.

"Alright, bastards! I'd say that's enough time. Get over to the elevator, it's time for our Class Trial!"

The transmission ended as suddenly as it had started.

There wasn't much choice in the matter. The students eventually gathered at the elevator.
