Chapter 2: (Ab)Normal Days

Jaden seemed to be mulling something over. "W-wait, I need specifics on that," he mumbled. "Would they... Nevermind." He glanced at some of the others in the room, with his eyes resting on Aris.

"Well, none of that means anything. We couldn't possibly know that kind of thing about each other, so the motive's totally useless, right?"

Jason stared at the floor for the entirety of the announcement, tensing up when it was implied there were murderers among them. He looked up once Monobear was done talking, staring at where Caleb was for a few moments. Slowly, he got up, grabbing two take-out boxes in between when Aris was hogging them for her stacks of food.

Silently, he was careful to pull back when Aris made a beeline for the food bowl he was currently at. He filled one box with a few slices of turkey and fried rice, and the other with salad. Sheepishly, he glanced around the room again before slinking out to the elevator.

Jason processed all of this for a minute or two, and then stood up and looked around curiously at the others in the room. "You know, the last one almost made sense, but...this one's weird."

He turned over to Lisa and clapped his hands together. "So, are we still down to Mario Kart after that fun excursion, or are we dropping that idea now?"

"I mean... I guess Mario Kart's cool but..." She paused for a moment.

"How about we meet up at my room first?"

Jason shrugged and nodded. "No complaints here. Let's head out, then."

Lisa shuffled back into her chair. Before heading out with Jason she quickly cut a small piece of cake and put it, along with a fork, on her lap.

"Ready when you are."

"Trust can save lives," Ruby said to Jaden. "But it can be dangerous too." With that, she made her way to the elevator.
